RUSTY IS ON A SLEEPOVER WITH A POTENTIAL ADOPTER!
07/30/13 UPDATE: Rusty continues to grow more comfortable and has mastered housetraining in his foster home. He has also earned his foster family's trust to be left uncrated in the home when they have to leave him alone. Rusty is great with other dogs and seems to really like children, but can still be unsure of the big people that are unfamiliar to him. However, a little kindness and patience can do wonders for his assurance that they mean him no harm. Rusty is a beautiful and gentle dog who will bring extra special love into your home.
06/29/13 UPDATE: Rusty is doing great!! He made a recent appearance at one of our adoption events and although he was nervous at first being in a crowd of people, he soon relaxed and enjoyed all the petting and affection he received. His foster family says he has a great time playing with other dogs at the dog park and does well with children too. Rusty does well on a leash but loud noises can really startle him so the human on the other end of his leash needs to aware. He still needs a human family that can show him patience and love until his trust is established.
05/31/13 UPDATE: This little country boy, Rusty is gettng "city-fied"! Rusty is making good progress in his foster home and is soaking up the affection and encouragement. He is doing super great with housetraining, does not seem to be very vocal at this point, but he is still quite shy of people he doesn't know. Rusty also has yet to learn how much fun toys can be - but we will give him time - he is steadily learning about this new life of being loved and taken care of.
New Arrival: RUSTY is a shy country boy who is still trying to get use to the smells, sounds and sights of the city. This makes him a little skittish, but does not stop him from being a friendly lad who likes being petted. I am sure that it will not take long for RUSTY to become more comfortable in his new surroundings.
