Meet Pickles! This little man is 25 pounds...and 20 of those are his ears! He is cuddly, loving, silly and playful. He loves to play by himself with a squeaky toy, tossing it about and working to extract that fascinating squeaker, and actually much prefers this to playtime with other dogs. He can do fine with other dogs provided they are gentle and easy going. Pickles was abandoned at a dog park in Tennessee and has been fostered by his finder for just a little over a month. He is super at meeting new people and totally enjoys any affection and attention he gets. His foster mom has allowed him to sleep in her bed, cuddled up next to her in a nest of soft blankets where he will stay all night. Pickles walks wonderfully on a leash and does not pull or tug unless he sees cats or squirrels, and he can get a little squirrely himself sometimes when meeting other dogs on leash. Foster mom has been working with his dog reactivity on leash and he has definitely improved a lot. House training has gone well too with only a slight tendency to mark, but that should resolve as he has just been neutered. When left at home alone, he stays in a bathroom that is closed off with a baby gate. He is of course food-motivated and loves treats and meal times! Pickles is heartworm positive and will be starting his treatment very soon.
