NEW ARRIVAL!
There are so many attributes which make Ellie Mae an exceptional little beagle and which will attract the attention of our adopters! It is impossible to list them in any order of importance but ...she is outgoing and affectionate with people, friendly and playful with other dogs, and a lovely compact size. Ellie Mae is a "tripod" having lost her back left leg after she arrived at the shelter in April. She is fast on those three legs and can now run like the wind! Please note the videos at the bottom of her web page. We also have to admit that Ellie Mae's pictures don't do her justice. Her facial expression can change from the softly wrinkled forhead and confident look to the sweetly submissive pleading look. Her coat and markings are brilliant. Ellie Mae has made excellent grades in potty training while with her foster in Lousiana, but we always caution beagles may need a refresher course in a new home. She sleeps quietly in her crate at night but... when she is out running hard chasing other dogs or squirrels she does have quite a clarion call. Beagles can sometimes have quite different bays and hers is soprano. Ellie Mae is social and moderately active so we hope she can find a home where she will get to run and play with other dogs frequently. We are confident she will be treasured.
