UPDATE:
Newton is PLAYFUL! He is a social pup and very much enjoys playing with other dogs. Despite having only 3 legs, Newton can run crazy fast and really gets into playing chase. For that reason we'd hope he could have a fenced yard. He can quiet down with his toys and chew bones and does enjoy attention and a bit of a snuggle. He has learned to spend some time in his crate when his foster family is away, but we'll be honest, that's not really his forte. He's a cutie with a lot of energy!
Newton just arrived from Sumter County where he had been rescued on the side of the road after probably being hit by a car. They took him to an ER Clinic and it was determined that he would lose his back right leg. When we met him he was already getting around really well (see video below). Newton is friendly and affectionate and doing really well in his foster home with several other dogs. Thankfully he is heartworm negative. He will have his staples removed on 5/26 and if our vet thinks he's healing nicely, then Newton will be ready for a sleepover!
