PRETTY GIRL WILL HAVE A SLEEPOVER SCHEDULED ONCE SHE ARRIVES IN FLORIDA!
PRETTY GIRL IS BEING FOSTERED IN NORTH CAROLINA BUT WILL BE ARRIVING IN FLORIDA THE FIRST WEEK OF MARCH!
Pretty Girl was in rough shape when she came to us from a rural shelter in South Carolina on New Years Eve. She was suffering from non-contagious (demodectic) mange, was very underweight, had given birth to many litters of puppies and all of her front teeth were chipped or broken down to the gum line. Pretty Girl’s body told the story of a little beagle girl who had been confined for most of her life in a small unsanitary space and bred repeatedly. She had large calluses on her backside and no muscle tone from lack of exercise. In spite of the extreme neglect she has suffered she is about the sweetest, most gentle little beagle you would ever want to meet. She loves attention and wags her tail constantly.
Currently Pretty Girl is undergoing medical treatment to regain health and happily settling into her foster home where she is getting lots of attention, exercise and good nutrition. She has done quite well with house training and has only had a couple accidents. She loves going on walks in the woods with her foster family and gets excited when she picks up the scent of some animal. She has a sweet little singing voice that sounds more like a puppy than an adult. Pretty girl is quiet in the house and is content when she is in her crate. Her foster family has given her a lot of freedom in the house because she is well behaved. She loves to be close to her foster parents and also the senior lab in the family. She is beginning to play with some of the toys she has been given and sometimes when she is in the yard will frolic and bounce around like a little puppy. She is curious and friendly toward the family cat and has touched noses with him when he allowed it. She has been very friendly to everyone she meets and loves any attention she is given. She knows the command “Come Pretty Girl” and will run joyfully toward the person calling her.
