Bagel was actually rescued by a Tampa police officer who found him on the side of the road after he had apparently been hit by a car. He took him to the shelter where he received preliminary treatment and rescue groups were then contacted. We had the pleasure of being able to get him to Fetch Veterinary Services where his broken tibia and fractures to his pelvis were repaired by a specialist. Bagel is a tiny little thing and looks so cute with his little splint. :) He is recovering very well and on September 10th we will find out how much longer he has to wear his splint. A few days after that we will treat his heartworms and then, as long as any potential family can continue his limited activity, he would be ready for a sleepover. Bagel is not a super active guy and very much enjoys his crate. He's a little slow to get to know someone, but after a few days of quiet interaction he really likes his people. Currently he doesn't seem to need a lot of attention, but he does love snuggling next to his foster mom either on the couch or in bed. Since he can't jump up, he comes and looks at her with sad eyes until she lifts him up. Then he's very happy!
